The problem
Every team wanting AI access to Xero data had to build its own integration and handle Xero’s OAuth quirks.
What we built
- Node.js/TypeScript MCP server (JSON-RPC 2.0) with 22 tools: invoices, bills, contacts, payments, bank transactions, P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, aged receivables/payables
- OAuth2 with single-use refresh tokens persisted in Azure Blob Storage
- Docker on Azure Container Apps with rate limiting, Helmet headers, Zod validation and Winston logging
